Senior Experience Designer — Wellington

DNA is a leading human-centred design and digital consultancy that helps define and create desirable experiences that enable organisations to connect better with their customers. 

We are looking for an Experience Designer to join our multidisciplinary team in Wellington to help deliver research, strategy and design of digital experiences.

We are looking for people from diverse backgrounds who have experience in some or all of the areas outlined in this job description. However, you must have had actual experience working in business or with clients.

You will.

  • Conduct ethnographic research development and contextual digital design investigations to understand customer behaviours, pain points, needs and aspirations.  

  • Be able to plan, design, execute and coordinate research activities within a project.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in analysing research results and developing quality actionable insights.

  • Bring insights to life through, personas, frameworks, experience maps, user journeys, service blueprints, interaction models, flows, and wireframes.

  • Facilitate ideation sessions and support workshop preparation as well as immersion sessions with multidisciplinary teams. 

  • Converge innovative ideas to a set of digital and physical products or services in cooperation with a multi-disciplinary team of Experience Designers, UX Designers, Project Managers and Developers.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that experience or product development and delivery is consistent with consumer insights and strategy.

We are looking for.

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in ethnographic research, service design, designing experiences or building products. 

  • A portfolio of work demonstrating your human-centred design capabilities across a diverse range of projects.

  • Experience working within time-constrained projects. 

  • Positive, curious, enthusiastic and collaborative attitude – and an intrinsic motivation to deliver the highest quality work.

  • Strong interpersonal and teaming skills, empathy and adaptability and willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams.

  • A good understanding of general business practices, and how to navigate the needs of larger organisations.
